The Chaplet of the Precious Blood of Jesus commemorates the shedding of Christ's blood during His Passion, with beads and prayers recounting the wounds inflicted by the crown of thorns pressed upon His sacred head. The precious drops of blood spilled upon the earth became a wellspring of salvation for humanity.

In the Cathedral of St. Basil in Bruges is preserved a rare relic of the Most Holy Blood of Jesus, gifted by Baldwin III, the crusader king of Jerusalem, to his kinsman Theodoric of Alsace. Legend holds that Joseph of Arimathea preserved on cloth some of the blood that poured forth from Christ's pierced side. Carried from the Holy Land in 1149, this relic retains its mystical crimson hue centuries later.

Red agate rich crimson hue calls to mind the blood Christ shed for us.
